CutEase Goes Mobile: Bring the Optimizer Into the Workshop
CutEase is now fully mobile-friendly. You can finally leave the laptop safe inside and optimize your cut lists right from your phone.
A while back, I wrote about How I Built CutEase in a Weekend. It started as a personal project to save money on expensive sheet materials.
But as anyone who actually cuts wood knows, laptops and workshops don’t mix. There’s sawdust everywhere, limited bench space, and the constant risk of dropping a heavy tool on a fragile screen. To be truly useful, I realized CutEase needed to work where the work actually happens: right next to the table saw.
So, I’m excited to announce the latest update: CutEase now has full mobile support.
What Changed?
I’ve completely redesigned the interface for smaller screens. If you open the site on your phone today, you’ll notice a much smoother experience.
1. A Layout That Fits Your Hand
On a desktop computer, the controls and the diagrams sit side-by-side. On your phone, everything is now neatly stacked. The controls are wide and easy to tap, meaning you won’t be squinting or zooming in just to enter a measurement.
2. The Important Stuff First
When you are in the middle of a build, you don’t need to read the website description—you need to see your cutting diagram.
I’ve reordered the mobile view so that as soon as you hit “Calculate,” your sheet diagrams appear right where you need them.
3. Works on Any Device
Whether you are using an iPhone, an Android, or a tablet, the cutting canvas now automatically adjusts to fit your screen size perfectly.
Why Use It?
- In the Store: Calculate exactly how many sheets of plywood or MDF you need before you load up the cart.
- In the Shop: Keep your phone in your pocket and check measurements as you cut, without running back and forth to a computer.
Try It Now
Next time you are planning a project, give it a try. No app download is required—it works right in your mobile browser.
Happy cutting!
